![]() I knew next to nothing about the story, I had seen none of Dutch director Paul Verhoeven's previous work (boy, would that change in the years that followed), and I wasn't yet familiar with its leading man, Peter Weller. When the upcoming UK release of RoboCop was announced at the tail end of 1987, all I had to go on were a few positive comments from across the pond and some intriguing stills. This was the first press screening I ever attended, although not as a journalist or film reviewer. RoboCop is one of a select group of films that occupies a significant place in my viewing history. ![]() Slarek has been a fan since his first viewing at a press preview screening, and in his latest review takes a detailed look at the film, it's socio-political subtext and a truly glorious collection of special features. ![]() The original and only true ROCOCOP is back on a wonderful Limited Edition Blu-ray release from Arrow Video.
